Best fats/oils to nourish your brain:
Cod liver oil/fish oil
coconut oil
walnuts
avocado
olive oil
Worst fats/oils that can interfere with brain health:
margarine
shortening
anything hydrogenated
soybean oil
canola oil
vegetable oil
You will also be wise to avoid anything that has been deep fried! I know, I was raised on french fries too and feel your pain but trust me, when you can eliminate these fats, you will be much better off.
Take a look at your nutrition and lifestyle, you can make the transition pretty easily. Begin by going through the foods in your home. Make a decision not to buy foods with these oils anymore. Next, stock your kitchen with the good healthy oils and learn how to use them.
