It has been two months since I have taken a rest week and how did I spend it? Skiing, skiing and more skiing. Great start to the week was hitting Iron Mtn with Dina after work. Then skiing at Brighton resort after 8 inches of new snow. Took Friday off to work and then the weekend of endless powder. On Saturday we headed to Little Cottonwood Canyon and explored for seven hours on our skinny skis. It snowed the entire day and couldn't see a thing. With it snowing all day I felt like a wet dog. Everything was soaked. I went through 2 beanies, 1 visor, 1 buff, 2 pairs of gloves and 3 jackets... it was a wet day. On 64mm underfoot skis made turns more challenging, which meant more face shots. I had a lot of fun today and even without the mountain views I still had great company. Now on to Sunday and a fresh dose 24 inches of snow. We met 3 other people at Big Cottonwood Canyon. Still snowing but not a lot of moisture in the air we stayed dryer today. This being my first time skiing in this area it was nice to have the local Salt Lake peeps show us around. Thank you Mark, Travis and Kelly. We went up Silver Fork Greens Basin Route and had fresh tracks all day. However with all the snow we received it was just as much work to ski down. I had to stop a lot because skiing in the backseat to try to stay afloat will do a number on the quads. Today I was smarter and toured in my Goode skis which are 95 underfoot. It was still a full day of face shots and lots of work but always worth the fun. Recovering today and wearing my 2xu socks since I am off from work Tuesday and Wednesday which means more play time.
