Since Saturday I was in ICU for 7 days where hourly I was checked on by the amazing doctors and nurses. I had collar bone surgery on Tuesday and was discharged on Friday, August 3rd. I was able to be home for the weekend where Andy took care of me (Cora our amazing chocolate lab was happy to have me home too)
On Monday, August 6th I had to go back to the hosptial for retest the ENOG to see if brain surgery is going to happen this week. As of now the doctors are all meeting to figure out what will be best for me... I still have no nerves on my left face where I can't smile, hear, close my eyes, lift my eyebrow or cry out out of my left eye.
I am happy to have so many family and friends that care about Andy and I. The visits, cards, mango sorbet, gluten free goodies, flowers, messages and phone calls are all so much appreciated.
Here are the Facebook posts from Andy's page:

Jill is the love of my life and know will be strong. A huge thank you to my Dad
for taking me to the Hospitol and to my close friends here in Utah who are
always caring and there when you need a person to talk to. My wife is so strong
and I know she will have a speedy recovery.

Big thank you to Jen coming by to say hi and for bringing some mango sorbet.
Jill was sooooo happy to see you. Just got back from whole foods with a
smoothie and gf cookies. She ate half a cookie and half the smoothie right
away. Yeah for calories. Finally finding that appetite. I also have to say
the staff here is so nice and caring. Almost feel like I am at the montage.

Still waiting to hear more from the
doctors today. Looks like surgury will need to take place on Collar Bone. They
say Jill is too tiny to have it heal on her own and the gap is tool large. ENT
visit was not as promising either. More to come on that tomorrow. Good news is
we went for a walk this morning and Jill was able to climb some stairs. She is
looking good. Still no word on when she w...
ill get to move to a new room out of the icu.
She just was able to take off the neck collar. Thank you to Montage for the
nice card and goodie bag. jill gace the nurses a Montage chocolate and now we
get service immediatley when she rings : ) Jill is in the best hands ever! I
cannot believe how great everyone is here at the U. As always will post more as
it becomes available. We can feel all the thoughts and prayers.

Jill had a good surgery this morning and is doing well. She looks great today.
Retesting for her nerves will be tomorrow. She is very chatty today. I got
requests asking about speech and senses. Jill has full movement of her body.
She has all taste touch and smell. The only complication is her nerves on the
left side of her face. Tests yesterday were not what we were hoping for but the
ent gave a little hope this morning. Jill is looking good today. So proud of
her and how strong she is. She feels the love from everyone.
August 2nd
WOW!! What a twenty four hours. So here
is the scoop: Jill is doing awesome today after a really tuff day yesterday.
They prepped her for surgery early in the morning, then took food/drink away,
and then had to stop the pain meds. After her test we found out she did not
have to have surgery. By that time it was too late for the pain. Started the
meds back up later in the day and closed all ...
the windows making the room as dark as possible.
I ended up going for a nice road ride with my friend Zach. We had dinner at
Vinto after seeing Jill briefly. She was happy to get her quiet time. When I
got back to the room she has nurse Anna was super concerned to help get her back
under control By 2a Anna had Jill back to feeling better. AMAZING
BETTER NEWS!! Jill was moved out of the ICU!!! We have a nice suite : ) on the
3rd floor with a bed for me and our own private bathroom. We have a valley view
room ( I think was a complimentary upgrade) too. Lots of room, no more
beeping, and wires are all gone. Jill was able to go the the gym and do PT.
Then the OT came in and quizzed her on life items. Funny she knows how much a
loaf of bread is but wont go shopping. Hmmm…I think she knows more about
grocery shopping than she leads me to believe. What a great day for us. More
comfort and Jill is improving. We may be able to leave in the next three days.
Visitors are more than welcome now and the kiddos can come too.
Thank you so much to everyone who has called and come by. For me a special
thanks to my great friend Zach for being there for me both for support and
driving down to do a much needed ride last night. Also to Dina for coming down
from Jackson and Miller for clearing his schedule during OR. Senta, Julie, Jen,
and Bethany who swang by today. Your smiles make Jill feel so good. One last
shout out to the Antinks from Boise who call to check in, thank you. We love
you all. Keep the good vibes a coming. We will all be riding together soon!
August 3rd
Jill is going home today! Will be coming back and most likely going into surgery
next week which would put her back in ICU. Thank you for everything from
everyone. We so appreciate your thoughts and prayers. ENT did not go as
planned for the nerves today. Will be coming back to get re-tested and most
likely schedule surgery. We really need all your prayers and good vibes right
now for Monday...
to go better. It great we are going home. Look
forward to seeing Cora. Please friends wait until tomorrow to come over so we
can have time to get comfy. Jill and I are a little scared about what’s to
come. The doctor here that will be performing the surgery is one of the best in
the country. Lets hope for a miracle over the weekend
August 4th
Jill had a good night sleep last night. She is soo happy to see cora and be
back at the house. We did a good job managing pain on our own. Taking a coffee
walk this morning. We will see if we make it. Thank you to all who came to the
Hospital over the last few days. Jill is already planning her next ride and
hike with all her good friends. Jen/Shannon have a good ride this weekend.
